I have to admit that this hasn’t been the best week for me. For some reason I really haven’t been sleeping well the past few nights, which has left me exhausted and kind of grumpy. And battling a afternoon headache that seems to keep popping up. Blech, headaches are the worst!
But I’m just trying to push through in the hopes of getting some more sleep this weekend and getting back to normal. I have total respect for all of those mamas out there who live on very little sleep! Someday that will be me, but for now I’m the one that turns into a baby with less than 7 hours! haha.
Anway, it’s Friday so I thought I’d bring back something I havent done in a few weeks – a Five Favorites Friday!
Five Favorites Friday is basically just a way for me to share 5 totally random things that I’m loving this week! So without further ado…
1. Favorite Breakfast Food: ANYTHING DIFFERENT!
Anyone who has seen any of my recent WIAW posts, I have had a major obsession with with cereal and fruit lately. And by lately, I mean for like the past 5 months. Well I finally broke down on Wednesday morning and tried something different – english muffin with Pumpkin cream cheese and a fried egg. I have to admit, I’m loving the change! Although definitely not as quick in the morning as my normal cereal! haha
2. Favorite Holiday Activity: Coffee with a Blog Friend

As I mentioned on Tuesday, I got to spend my Columbus Day with the lovely Lindsay and we spent several hours chatting about food, husbands, family, and life in general over delicious pumpkin spice coffee. There is definitely something to be said about hanging out at a small local coffee shop. I’m kind of obsessed with the cute little mugs!
3. Favorite New Gadget: Polar FT7 Watch
I got this Polar watch for my birthday a few weeks ago, and I have to say, I’m already in love. While I love my Garmin, I really wanted something that was primarily focused on heart rate so I could really look at how I was doing during my workouts (especially my strength training). It has been really informative, and I do find myself pushing a little harder when I have a visual in front of me to let me know when I’m slacking!
4. Favorite New Challenge: Vegetarian Recipes
Even though I’m pretty sure I could NEVER actually get Chris to go vegetarian, I have been trying to include more vegetarian recipes into our normal routine. Not only do I find it to be a fun challenge, but I also think it’s a great way to break out of the norm and make sure we’re getting enough veggies in our diet (other than in just normal steamed or roasted form). On Thursday I made these delicious sweet potato and chickpea burgers from an old Clean Eating magazine, and I’m kind of obsessed. I can’t wait to play around with them more!
5. Favorite Recent Inspiration: Malala
I don’t even have words. What an amazing and inspiring person. I bet that there are very few young girls in this country who would answer a question like that. I am definitely adding her book to my “To read” list!
